Announcing the online reference to all the Canadian and related international law fit and unfit to print about children’Ä®’Ä®From the encyclopaedic work of WILSON ON CHILDREN AND THE LAW and those working at lawandlife.inc
With a first edition in 1978, a second edition in 1985, and the introduction of a loose-leaf binder format in 1990, Wilson On Children and the Law remains the only Canadian text devoted exclusively to the law of the child. Said to be nine books in one, the text is now 1400 pages with 24 appendices, more than 5,000 footnotes all about the child and her experiences when in the midst of immigration, custody, child protection, school suspension or expulsion, secure treatment, youth offender, privacy protection, criminal compensation, international abduction, employment standards, class certification, child support, special needs/services, choice of independent legal representation, abuse and harm damages and evidentiary fair-witness proceedings. There are so many experiences within the law to which those of one age are subjected (and subjugated) by those of another age. The appendices attempt to give the reader a comparative view of the law across Canada, or a particularly focused examination of the impact of a certain, such as the one that allows corporal punishment for Canadian children, and how judges have applied the hit and hurt form of discipline to the lives of young people.
